As promised, the art auction has returned. And today, we put the first item on the block.
Whenever Robbi hunches over her drawing table and begins to scratch away, I never know what to expect. Her usual style is quick and messy, so I usually don’t have to wait long to see what she comes up with. This time, however, she remained in her fugue for a few hours. When she emerged, it turned out she’d done a painting—a quiet landscape of sunset over brown fields and red mountains.
The piece is painted with acrylics on canvas stretched over a 4″ x 4″ x 1.25″ frame.
Robbi has extended the image across all five planes, so there’s no need for a frame. The piece can be enjoyed from any angle.
I can honestly say there’s nothing quite like it in Robbi’s oeuvre. I immediately fell in love with this painting and briefly considered confiscating it so that it would not be auctioned off. But as Robbi was quick to remind me, that would kind of defeat the purpose.
So if you are compelled to bid, click here. If no one is thus compelled, I will not be unhappy.
This auction will end at 12:30EST on Monday, January 21. We’re giving you the holiday weekend to stew and ponder.
Moving forward, the plan will be to post a new auction every Wednesday, alternating between this blog and the Bobbledy Blog. The images for Bobbledy will be kid-themed and the ones you’ll find here, less so.

It’s beautiful! I love it! I’ll start the bidding with one night of free baby-sitting.
Don: If we have to give you a painting in return, that babysitting isn’t really “free,” is it? Plus, people pay US for the pleasure of hanging out with our lovely children. That last part was a dirty lie.
Details, details.
