My Promise, My Threat

Ok people. Robbi’s 15 minutes of dancing stardom is just two days away. It’s time to get serious in support of  the girl. Though I lack the funds to put her over the top, I possess something else the world needs even more, the ability to motivate. Let me explain.

Should Robbi win the competition on Saturday Night, yours truly will don these shorts and pose for a photo on this blog.

Excited at this prospect? Cast votes for Robbi.

Horrified? Vote for the competition.

Either way, kids win, so I’ll be happy.

If you’re looking for a different form of inspiration, here is a sneak peek at Robbi rocking the same shorts (and doing them great honor, if you ask me).

If you are STILL not persuaded, we have one final offer (we hope) you will not be able to refuse. Anyone who casts 25 or more votes for Robbi (that’s a measly $25) will get a free copy of this classic Robbi print, Bad Bird (which, coincidentally, usually sells for $25).

If you’re interested in taking advantage of this blatant attempt to buy votes: 1) Pay the piper to the tune of $25 or more, 2) leave a comment here letting us know you want a copy of the print.

So whether to revel in the sight of me in tight silver hotpants, to bulk up your art collection, or for the sake of helping kids, why not cast a vote?

Oh my, how you are tempting my wallet…although I won’t say in which direction.

  • Marigold

I knew Matthew was jealous of those hot pants!

  • Abby

When do we get to see a routine by Robbi & Matthew?

  • Holli

Can those of us who already pledged $25.00 still receive a print? The teachers of FMS cast our twenty five votes FOR Robbi a few nights ago…that print would be a nice addition to Kato’s or Alden’s classroom!

  • OK I did 25 votes. A print would be nice but I’m not sure I can handle seeing Matthew in hot pants. :-)

I don’t wish to be rude, but I’m reading the blog backwards today and in support of Robbi’s make-up efforts, I just added more votes to her tally.

Robbi should win because she has done more to increase my awareness of important things like the inimitable website Dancewear Solutions, the Gangham Style video, a youtube sensation that I had hitherto missed and now drugstore make-up (which is much more difficult than most people realize).

There are so many important reasons to vote for Robbi. Why must my votes be punished with a threat?

    Don – DON’T DO IT.

Marigold – yes, he’s already been wearing them around the house for his morning routine. (dance routine, that is)

Abby – Matthew is pretty good at the leprechaun kick. See: http://idiotsbooks.com/?p=8477 We’ll surely try to fit that into our set.

Holli – aw shucks! Thanks! Of course you may have a print! Though I’m sure I could dig up something slightly less menacing if you’d like.

Myron – luckily, the print is yours regardless. Given my competition for actually DANCING, there’s still a good chance that in spite of all the generous support of ye fine people I will lose this thing. Matthew might still be moved to wear the pants though.

Amy – thank you for your steadfast support in spirit as well as in cash donations. Lately I’ve been browsing Dancewear Solutions just to see what else there is (hard to top the biketard, though). I’m waiting for the day that lime green tee goes on clearance (can’t be long now).

  • I think Matthew should wear the shorts regardless – he has quite a following. I donated, and saw Holli’s note above – I’d like donate my print to the school – so that there can be one in Alden AND Kato’s room.

I only ask that you don’t share Dancewear Solutions with my daughter. I may never be able to afford to donate to anything ever again.

I cast 20 votes a long while back, so I guess I’m out of the running for the print. But, the prospect of seeing Matthew in those shorts is …well…suffice to say, Go Robbi!

  • Robbi

Aw shucks, Clare – You shouldn’t be penalized for jumping on the bandwagon without ANY PERCEPTIBLE INCENTIVE – I think we can do a retroactive special.

IMPORTANT! To be able to proceed, you need to solve the following simple math problem (even Robbi can do it!) so we know that you are a human. You are human, right?

What is 2 + 7 ?
