Hello. We are pleased to welcome you to the brand-new, better, and hopefully functional Idiots’Books web site and blog. It is with some sadness that we bid farewell to the first-generation Idiots’Books site and The Barnstorming, which chronicled our journey from real life to this strange space of book making and barn living in which we find ourselves today.
This new site offers many new things to you, our faithful readers/friends/family/fans. For your convenience, we have combined the blog and site so that you can focus all your time and energy on one handy URL. We now have a bigger, better store with a larger and more varied inventory (think T-shirts, baby clothes, card sets, prints, and original artwork), a Flash reader that will let you read selected Idiots’Books online, a weekly auction of Robbi’s original illustrations, and samples of our commissioned work–for other publishers and for hard-working, earnest people just like you and us.
At the outset of this new phase of our online life, we are asking you for a favor. Please explore this site and report back to us on what you find/think/feel/and do. Let us know what errors you find (I am a notoriously bad speller). Let us know what links don’t work (Robbi is a notoriously bad linker). Tell us what you find confusing or arduous. We’re particularly interested in hearing if any of you Windows users have difficulty (we are notoriously Mac-loyal and therefore lack a PC on which to test the site).
We’re trying to get all of the rough edges smoothed out before the official launch later this week, so please feel free to point out any and all things that we might have messed up or missed. This is your opportunity to cut us down to size! Write us an email with your thoughts or just leave a comment on this post.
With that, we’ll sign off. We need to take a nap. Coding drives Robbi into a sleepless rage, and dealing with Robbi’s sleepless rage keeps me from my slumber.
We can’t wait to hear from you.

Well, I came, I ordered, I looked for babies, and then I left a comment to that effect. When I pushed submit, I got a retort saying “Goodbye Spambot!” Now, I know I did the math right, but I did leave this page before submitting ( to check out something else on the site) and then returned and tried to submit then, so maybe that caused the problem. And, I’m on a Mac, FWIW.
Thanks!
Hi Clare.
I’m writing a test comment to see if I get called a “Spambot,” too. Have you considered the possibility that you are, indeed, a spambot?
Matthew
I did a quick search for you and found a free link checker software that is supposed to work on Mac.

PS: I didn’t get a Spambot message. I’m using Mozilla on a PC.
Yay! New blogginess!
Aghhh – math!
Ok, I admit to liking math.
Clare: babies coming soon. TOO soon, in fact. I am fatter by the minute.
Jessica: Thanks for the link. I am investigating, but am remarkably dense.
Ming: As long as none of those math questions ask for derivatives, I think I’ll be ok. Though the double-digit addition problems DO slow me down.
I think it looks fantastic, Robbi. Excellent work!
Nice to see the new design. I signed up for your email list, and while it was successful (as evidenced by the email in my inbox) the website told me there was an error. Hope that helps with the debugging!
Lucy
You know, I have debugging skills.
If you need them – they are yours.
Will miss the old Barnstorming, but am quickly warming up to this new-fangled Idiots’ Blog. And also, Alden is too cute for words. I sometimes can’t stand it.
Congrats on the new site! It’s lovely.
And Mark says hi!
That was a tough math problem….
Best to you all. Love the new site!
Ann and Donald
