Okay. I just can’t resist. I was driving the other day and saw a billboard advertising THIS and had to immediately return home and hit the googlebot:
Truthfully, I have never understood the Riverdance phenomenon, but I’m really not sure what 3D is going to add to the already dubious experience. Will we all be dodging kicks from our seats? It makes me laugh just to think of it. Oh, Michael Flatley, you’re really not joking, are you?
And yet I must confess: I cannot wait.

Ok. I can’t speak to the whole movie/3D thing, but I did see Riverdance once in Boston when it first started touring. We had really close seats so we could feel the show more (all the stomping) and I have to say–it was pretty awesome. Its become super cheesy, the whole production piece of things but when in its infancy it was more about the music/dancing it was standing ovation worthy. There, I admitted it. I have changed my name for this post to protect the innocent.
Pleh pleh pleh. I can understand how in the beginning it must have been pretty cool, but now it’s become so Vegas. As Felix the Cat would say, “faskinating.”
