Here’s the new auction. Bid away.

The painting is pen and ink with watercolor washes. I’m not sure what city it is. Neither is Robbi. Nor am I sure why Robbi chose to write “city” in (almost) all-caps beneath the drawing. Neither is Robbi.

There was a great angst-ridden brainstorm session during which we struggled to come up with an idea for something that Robbi could draw that other people would also want to buy. We never arrived on a winning idea, and so Robbi just sat down to draw. Various outtakes included a lady swimming half-naked under water having lost her bikini bottom (beautiful composition, but Robbi’s heart wasn’t really into it):

and a portrait of a shockingly unattractive woman with scribbles and ink blotches surrounding her head (Robbi liked it but feared that no one else would):

And so the city emerged as the auction of the week, the least unlovable of the three. Robbi is certain that no one will spend more than a dollar, but I think she’s wrong. There’s no one who believes less in Robbi than Robbi.

And there’s no one that believes in her more than me.
