Continuing our Williams-themed stretch of months, Robbi and I will be heading north the week after next to give a talk at our dear old alma mater. Guests of the Office of Alumni Relations, the Career Center, and the Department of English, we will be speaking about the road we took from wide-eyed freshmen to people who make art for a living—while trying our best to give some useful advice.

After our presentation, we will be joined by beloved professors Jim Shepard and Amy Podmore for a panel discussion on creative careers. We are thrilled at the thought of appearing on stage with our heroes and trying to figure out what chain of events led to this moment. Perhaps we’ll find out when we give our talk.

In any case, if you’re in or around Williamstown and want to see us do our thing, we’ll be speaking at 8:00pm on Wednesday, January 23 in the basement of Paresky.

The next day at noon, in Paresky 220, we’ll be meeting informally with Williams students over pizza. If you are a Williams student and have some time to drop by and say hello, we’d love to meet you, even if you’re only there for the pizza.
