Here’s the opportunity of a lifetime (or at least the best opportunity you might get between now and your late-afternoon sugar crash). Joshua Wolf Shenk has been studying Robbi and me for six months now, exploring our creative partnership and making cryptic notes on his pad. The first installment of his findings was published this morning, but he has issued an open invitation to contribute your own ideas about how best to test us. So far we have done many surveys, got psychoanalyzed, and had a visit from the Feng Shui Detective, but we are open to more extreme measures. A few ideas that spring to mind:
-throw us in a tank of sharks and see whether or not our “collaboration” helps us escape
-superglue our hands and feet together and see how long it takes us to make a book
-give us a McArthur and see how long it takes us to quit making art, buy a condo in Aspen, and devote ourselves exclusively to the consumption of foie gras
But I’m spoiling your fun. Please share your ideas by commenting on the first installment of the Slate series. You are smart people. Imaginative people. People with twisted minds and cruel ideas.
Someone has to throw the first snowball.
And then we’ll have a rousing fight.
