Okay, okay, so the Blue Devils won. Matthew actually almost broke down in tears. It was the most pathetic display of vicarious triumph I have ever seen. He looked very much like Coach K looks like in that photo Matthew posted earlier where K is hugging Lance Thomas with a syrupy pansy-eyed look on his face. (Sorry, Coach K, but this is true. You will surely hear it from all of your detractors, so I’m saying it here first). To celebrate the end of this long, torrid and exhausting affair with the 2010 Blue Devils, I am posting a special three-day auction of a commemorative Blue Devil.
Note that 100% of the proceeds of this sale will go to the Emily Krzyzewski Family Life Center in Durham, a community center founded by Coach K. Just so you don’t think I’m totally exploiting Duke fans in their post-championship delirium. Well, I am, but now it’s for a good cause, instead of more ice cream for Robbi.
