You have heard us talking for weeks about our latest book, Build Your Own President: 2012. Now, thanks to the wonders of HTML and the relentless brilliance of the man pictured at the bottom of this post, you may spend the morning enjoying the thrill of presidential customization instead of doing the work your employer pays you to perform.
That’s right, your key to a full day of failed productivity is just a click away.
Flip the panels, hear from individual contenders, or click the big red button to generate a candidate at random. It’s up to you.
The mad genius behind the feature is none other than Joshua Hirsch, developer, innovator, video game aficionado, and Minister of Technology for Big Spaceship, a badass design, technology, and communication firm—the beautiful work of which helps shape the way we look at the world.
You may sample Josh’s wisdom by following him on Twitter (@joshuahirsch). You may compliment his great hair by leaving a comment at the bottom of this post.
We love the way the feature turned out and hope that you will take it for a spin. If you like it, please take a moment to click the like button in the lower right (it will post to your Facebook wall), Tweet with impunity (I swear that’s not as dirty as it sounds), or email it to friends.
We hope to spread this sucker around. Robbi is hoping for world domination by 6:00 tonight. It’s a tall order, we realize. And that’s why we need your help.

Yes, definitely, my compliments on John’s hair! Oh, and the whole interactive book thing too, I guess.
NO NO NO!!!!! I typed Josh, not John. Or at least I meant to. Sorry, Josh. My bad.
Where are you, Don, that you are posting an hour into the future?
Ah, I see. So am I.
Sigh. I suppose I need to fix this…
And… fixed. We are comfortably back in the present. Let me tell you, the future was dark. Okay, not really dark. Just about an hour darker than it should have been.
Actually, it was an hour lighter for me. And please, next time, warn me before we do the time warp again. I think I have whiplash now.
Absolutely hysterical. Brilliant work, all.
I’m just going to say that your friend Joshua is really cute. There, I said it. It needed to be said.
Elyse: While your admiration is completely understandable (Josh is the dreamiest), know that he is recently engaged and that his fiance is the kind who kicks asses. Let’s just say, it’s lucky for you that she only knows your first name.
Elyse: I will add that said fiancée is my best friend from time immemorial. Though I am devoted to you as a subscriber, I am only very slightly more devoted to her. That being said, the moment I see an opening, I’m totally making my move on Josh. The ass kicking would be well worth the risk.
Ah, it is probably just as well that I shirk from physical confrontation at all costs. Otherwise, I might be tempted to embark on a training regimen consisting of a diet of leafy greens, high fiber, and raw egg smoothies. While jogging in place and humming Eye of the Tiger.
Truth is, my heart belongs to another. His name is Doug and I’m not sure about the last but it might be “TheBaker.” Would you happen to know if his significant other is of the ass-kicking variety?
