Tonight was another of the perfect nights we’ve been having. Clear and cool, not cold. Just right for walking in jeans and a long-sleeved shirt, but without a jacket. We walked down to the water. Crossing Queen Street, I took this shot up toward Cannon.
We walked down High Street toward the Chester River. The light was starting to fall.
Alden rode her trike.
Robbi, Kato, Iggy, and Tanker brought up the rear.
There were geese near the shore. They seemed just as surprised as we that it was so warm, and just as pleased.
Kato ran and Alden raced toward the boardwalk.
And across as the last light fell.
It was dark as we made our way back up Cannon Street.
And then turned right and walked up Queen until we were back at the barn.
We had a wonderful weekend that included our reading, time with friends, an excursion to get a Christmas tree, the production of hundreds of cookies, and setting up the “nursery” for #3, such as it is. Stories to come in the days ahead. For now, I just wanted to pause a moment and remember the color of the sky tonight, the way it looked when it reflected on the river.

You make life here so nice. Just knowing you all is so nice.
Aw shucks. Likewise, Jenifer. It always makes me happy to see you and Remi going about town together. :)
Lovely post.
So is Tanker a new addition to your family?
Clare:
Oh no. This family is already two cats too large. Tanker lives across the street. We were just taking him for a walk.
Welcome back from wherever you have been.
