Yesterday’s big excitement was the arrival of the FedEx guy, who dropped off the first proof of the latest Idiots’Books volume.
As a bit of background, we have written a book for each of our children, a kind of tone-setting welcome to the family/barn/world.
The first in the series, The Baby is Disappointing was dedicated to Alden.
Next up, Babies Ruin Everything was dedicated to Kato.
And the third—and final—installment is for August, our third—and final—installment.
It is called, most appropriately, Baby Apocalypse.
It is the tale of one brave bachelor’s bold campaign against the rising scourge of diapered invaders. He struggles long and valiantly, but in the end, is overwhelmed, subordinated, broken, and subsumed. In many ways, it is my anthem, my lament, my autobiography.
August will get his copy as soon as we fix a few typos. It will be mailed March 1 to subscribers everywhere.
