August’s fourth day in the open air was a mixture of excitement and routine.
We consorted with a goat.
We bought a Christmas tree for Mom.
After considering various options, we figured out where to put the baby during mealtime.
We caught August in the midst of conjuring a great thought, though we do not know what it was.
At the end of the day, just before going to sleep, Alden and August shared a snuggle in her bed.
Notice that the baby has even trumped Monkey for prime position, if only for a moment. Right after this picture was taken, Alden told me that August was, “a very special person.”
I get the sense that she came to this conclusion on her own, though it is an opinion that I happen to share.

OMG, loving all this. Babies rule, no doubt about it.
Matthew, not to pry, but are you having parmesan cheese on Cheerios? Is this something I need to try?
Chris,
Sleep deprivation does strange things to one’s appetite.
Matthew
Chris, I think you may have stumbled onto Matthew and Robbi’s secret for producing very cute babies!
