As of next Friday, my father, the great John Swanson (AKA, Grandpa John), will officially retire after 35 years working to improve public health care, first for the State of Pennsylvania and, (for the past quarter century) at the American Academy of Family Physicians, a non-profit advocacy group for family doctors.
