You all might remember our last intern, Emma, who looked after things in the Barn and on the blog while we were gone in Alaska this summer. She managed to keep the business afloat, and, frankly, humming along much more smoothly than when we were here.

You probably don’t, however, remember our intern before Emma, who was mainly asked to answer phones and not hang up on anyone.

As you can see, it was a hit-or-miss proposition.

In light of the fact that we have phones and we hate to answer them (98% of callers are from political or guilt campaigns), we thought it might be time to try out another internship.

Though he didn’t really dress for the interview, he seemed to successfully execute the task at hand.

There was a moment when it seemed the interview was really going off the rails…

But luckily a quick recovery set him straight again.

So, please welcome our new intern, Kato Davies Swanson.

He will be at the phones until he gets ousted (as all middle children do) by Billie Jean King.
