Just Wonderful

I’m usually well behind the curve in coming to the latest and the greatest in the social media world, so perhaps you’ve already seen this. But this short video of Marcel the Shell is one of the most purely wonderful things I’ve ever seen online.

It’s the voice. It’s that wonderful, broken voice. Shades of Sarah Vowell, who always slays me with her delivery. Her voice is what happens when something gets so far away from sexy that it’s sexy again. Ditto the voice of Marcel.

    I don’t think I’m going out on a limb to say that there is a good chance that Marcel plays for your team. But looking at the YouTube tracker, it seems you have more than seven million other people competing for his affections. Which is to say, good luck.
