Yesterday I posted a link to my friend Victor’s send-up of Poe’s The Raven. I have just learned that the poem has attracted national media attention and will be featured this coming Saturday on NPR’s “Just a Game,” NPR’s hour-long sports program that runs on 200 stations.

It’s funny, back in our boyhood on the prairie, we never thought Victor was going to amount to anything (see exhibit 1).
It’s so nice when people are able to lift themselves up by their bootstraps and seize an opportunity. Poetry is truly the gateway to the American Dream. Thank you, Victor, for inspiring us all.
