Apparently, when Robbi was in fourth grade, she was subjected to the Presidential Fitness Test. One of the evaluations was the Flex Arm Bar Hang, holding onto a bar with one’s hands while one’s head is above the bar, kind of like the top part of a pull-up. Apparently, Robbi hung there way longer than anyone expected her to. She stopped only because the other kids started to get bored and implored her to come down. So she came down. Only to discover later on that she had been four seconds shy of a school record.
The injustice of it all smarts to this day.
But due to her evident Flex Arm Barn Hang prowess, Robbi’s fourth-grade teacher gave her the nickname Mini Hulk, a moniker I still pull out from time to time.
Why am I telling you this? It seems the apple might not have fallen so far from the tree.
My girls really know how to hang out.

I, too, remember having to do the Presidential Physical Fitness Test in Elementary School. Unlike Robbi, I was terribly untalented when it came to such feats of strength and speed. I clearly remember wondering why the President was making me do all of these horrible things. It’s no wonder I hate politics.
