Last night we spoke at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Robbi took the opportunity to channel her inner Madonna.
They put us in a great big room with a great big screen.
Robbi noted that the audience was divided into bride’s and groom’s sections. This, apparently, was my fan base.
And this, she told me, was hers.
It was particularly painful to learn that my dear friend David is, in fact, in Robbi’s camp.
The hour arrived. We did our thing. The students were a wonderful audience. As much as we enjoy making books, getting a chance to meet the people who read them is so much more gratifying. Especially when so many of them are interested in making art of their own. It’s a real privilege to meet them and play some minor role in their adventures.
Here we are, enjoying a moment of reenactment.
And here is our host, the amazing Melanie Reim.
And here are three of my favorite people in the world.
Thanks to all of you who have come out to see us this week. It has been so nice to reconnect with our oldest friends as we make so many new ones.
Later this afternoon, we head to NYU, and tomorrow, we’ll take the stage at the RISD Entrepreneur Mindshare.
Eventually, I suppose, we’ll go back home. But not today. We’re having way too much fun.

Sure, but was Ethan Hawke there? NO.
So cool! Guys I am staying in the West village in New York right now too! I escaped Chestertown for the weekend :) maybe I will run into you guys!
Don – are you sure? I think I was making out with him before the presentation…
