This weekend felt like a small dip between two mountains, and we tried to take advantage of the relative calm.
The craziness of the fall is behind us. The holidays have come and gone. August is here, and apparently thriving. The excitement surrounding the Build Your Own President feature has died down. Our latest subscriber mailing has gone out.
And so we did our best to do nothing for a change.
We’re not very good at it, I’m afraid. Mostly because I usually refuse to stop moving. After all, there are so many more books to make.
But Robbi has a way of keeping me tethered to the earth, reminding me of the importance of occasionally stopping to enjoy the moments between the moments.
August is clearly on her side. One of the most endearing things about infants is their limited scope of need and want. If only I could be content to merely eat and sleep a while in the sunshine.
