I suppose that we’re due after all the gallivanting we’ve being doing lately. From blizzards to tropic climes and back again, a cold or two was bound to be picked up somewhere along the way.
Actually, three colds were picked up. It’s nearly impossible for me to take pictures of the snot bubbles coming out of my own nose. And though I’m dazing drearily at my computer, you can bet that Toy Story 2 is not what I’m looking at.

Ohhhhh…woe is us.
I know exactly how you all feel. I came down with a doozy of a gruesome head cold right after our Xmas travels, and am still suffering the consequences. If only I could take some solace in my own snot bubbles. Now I ask you, how can a head hold so much snot!? Where does it all come from!?
BTW, for this reason (and the fact that my hubby is out of town) the making of the cake has been delayed until mid January. I am looking forward to enjoying it when I can finally smell, taste, and breathe.
Feel better you precious creatures.
I think Clare just inspired what I hope to be a new book from you two: “Where does snot come from? An illustrated children’s book about, well, snot”
Believe it or not, Clare (and Rory), I have often wondered where all the snot comes from. I mean, there must be a big keg in my frontal lobe for storing all the stuff. It can’t just come from nowhere. Yes. Perhaps there is a book in the making…
Stop, stop, already! You’re making me laugh and snort, which is snot a pleasant picture. Heh…”The Mystery of Snot”?
So, apparently, your nose produces about a quart of snot on a daily basis even when you’re not sick. Sickness puts it into overdrive and next thing you know you’re into gallon territory. (For further goopy details, see: http://kidshealth.org/kid/talk/qa/nose_run.html )
Hope everyone mends quickly!
Annie,
Your snot link is snot working. ;-)
Clare – link should work now!
Also note the link at the bottom about what a booger is. We like to educate, here at Idiots’Books.
What does it mean that a post about snot invokes such a commenting frenzy? Perhaps it’s time to rebrand this blog?
