Sold!

Okay – I know this isn’t really the place for me to be doing product placement, but we were watching TV yesterday (actually, a kind of rare event) and saw this ad and just had a good laugh.

Frankly, we’re not really sure what it says about Old Spice, except that the ad firm that came up with the ad is brilliant. I love how they totally mock everything that a woman is supposed to find attractive (including my personal pet peeve, diamonds). I’ve always considered Old Spice kind of my dad’s generation of aftershave/deodorant/whatever they sell. And their weird logo with the clipper ship could use an update. But I guess it’s supposed to say “classic”. And, what kind of name is Old Spice? Don’t you want your spices to be fresh? Especially if you’re slathering them on your armpits? I don’t get it. Well, whatever. I love that man, that man on a horse.

This ad has superseded our former favorite, the weird screaming rodents with gums by Quizno’s.

It just seemed like a horrible idea to make that ad. Horrible and brilliant.

    I used to LOVE these Quiznos commercials. So wrong and so right at the same time.

    Freaky! My wife and I were watching tv the other night and also marveled at the Old Spice commercial. And commented on how it was the best thing we’ve seen since the Quiznos ads. Cosmic!

    Jason – that IS freaky. Do you also live in a barn? Because that would be triple freaky.

    I had forgotten about the raised by wolves ad, which is mostly totally disturbing. I love how the guy was wearing his suit while being raised by wolves, too. Go Quiznos!

    I don’t have television, so I’m usually glued to the ads when I go somewhere that has tv on.
    Old Spice – yes, brilliant, brilliant.
    Quinznos – ROTFL!
