Bob has returned from Lake George, and so has our gas pump.
There was the tricky business of getting it up the stairs.
But with help from Bob and Doug the baker, we didn’t have much trouble. I’d like to take a moment to thank the person who invented hand trucks.
Thank you, person. Without you, our gas pump would never have made it to the far corner of the hayloft, where it occupies the spot where the cat tower once stood. Sorry cats, we love you but we also have our priorities.
My favorite is using the gas pump as a lamp at night.
And because it’s in the window, you can drive by any time and have a look. Here’s what you’ll see from the street.
I still can’t explain my intense, irrational love of the gas pump, but maybe I’m not meant to. I love how it greets me whenever I walk into the room. I love how it brings a little piece of Lake George right here to Chestertown. And I love it’s indisputably reasonable pricing.
Anyone who can get his car up our stairs is welcome to come gas up.

Awesome!
Double Awesome. It looks better in your barn than I even imagined. So cool. I understand the love affair.
Awesome. It’s hands-down the best lamp I’ve seen in ages.
I was watching the show Pickers last night, which I never do, and they were picking through some dude’s old car memorabilia. And I actually wondered what the heck ever happened to your gas pump. That should either validats your love affair, or creep you out.
Quadruple awesome. I am envious.
Awesome!! For some reason, reminds me of Hockey Night in Canada. Henderson’s ‘brother’?
Irrational love? The only thing irrational would be NOT loving it. How can anyone see this (especially with the light on) and not fall in love with it?
