Let’s start with the obvious:
Moving on, then, we woke this morning to a brand-new part of our lives.
When I say “woke,” I should clarify, that we slept for about 90 minutes between the hours of 6:30am (when things finally calmed down in our room) and 8:00, when a very nice gentleman arrived to bring Robbi her breakfast. In spite of the inadequate sleep, Robbi and Kato seemed full of life.
Ok, maybe not Kato so much. So far, he seems terribly devoted to sleep, a thing which does not bother us in the least.
He rests a lot, but this provides us many opportunities to gaze at him in ways he might find creepy were he awake.
And occasionally, he does open his eyes.
Bob and Seiko came to visit at noon.
They seem to be as fond of Kato as we are.
If not more so.
And should we be surprised by this? Indeed we should not, because, as I have stated already:
We’ll head home tomorrow, apparently. Robbi and Kato are both doing well. For now, there’s hours to fill with nothing to do but my new favorite thing.
I can think of worse ways to spend a Monday.

Congrats on the arrival of Kato. Appropriate for two denizens of literature that his birthday should be a palindrome! 011110. Hoping all is well and that the years ahead bring you much joy.
