Volume 24, The New South, is on its way to subscribers all over the country and world. I’ll do a full post on The New South in a few days, once it has landed, but for the time being, I wanted to promote that wholesome, anticipatory tingle subscribers get when they know that something new and unexpected is moving quickly toward them on the light, determined feet of their friendly neighborhood mail carrier.
HEY!!! This is not a comment on your blog post. This is a message intended for email, but I do not have you email address right now. I normally would not explain why I don’t have it because the story is long and boring, but you guys like unusual things like the unusual case of boring some friends with an unnessacry story in which unnecessary is spelled wrong.
i spilled water on my laptop, so now i am using a “loaner” laptop and the email system does not have my address book so i am putting a message here. that was shorter than the introduction of it.

I will be back in the gold dripping colony of chestertown on the gold dripping day of Monday the 21st. that’s soon. then i’ll abandon chestertown AGAIN for the bigger, better, newer, fancier, hipper CHIcago on January 3rd. And I would absolutely love to celebrate some holiday cheer with the fabuLOSO Alden while you guys do something else like be adults. you have a fairly short window of time to take advantage of my extreme skills of making sure alden doesn’t fall down too many times, which I’m sure are far less praise-deserving than her actual parents’ “skills”, not to mention LOVE, but you can’t not be with alden to do other stuff when you ARE with alden, and that’s why you should hire me for babysitting.
