As I sit here at my desk this morning, blowing on my cold fingers to keep them warm until the heater kicks in, listening to Kato wheeze and wail through the monitor (poor little guy has a cold), bracing myself against the pile of editing that looms to my left, I pause a moment to remember last Friday afternoon when I swam outdoors in the largest swimming pool in the continental United States.
I kid you not. At the far end, there are two waterfalls. It took me about five minutes to swim over to them. I’m not usually a warm-weather fan, but there was something not unwelcome in being delivered from the heart of the blizzard into the palm-lined throes of Miami for a day or two.
Now back to the character-building aspects of my morning, which will include cold oatmeal, unadorned by butter or anything sweet.

Um. Wow. For real?
Yes, Veronica. Matthew doesn’t put ANYTHING on his oatmeal. Just plain, gluey, and full of ick.
What a beautiful, beautiful place. Isn’t it wonderful (and sometimes a little scarey)
how we can go from one extreme to the other?
Robbi,
It strikes me that you need some fingerless gloves. I wear them in the studio and was so inspired, I knit about seven pairs for Xmas gifts. Big hit.
