We have been busy lately doing things that are not photogenic.
Writing and creating the illustrations for our TEDx talk.
Illustrating and editing our soon-to-be released book about cats (and how awful they are).
Putting the finishing touches on the kid-authored Bobbledy Book that will mail out in about a week.
Scheming and planning and preparing for the launch of our new design studio and letterpress shop.
Getting ready for a series of talks and workshops we’ll be giving over the next couple of months.
Writing the next Bobbledy Book, which features vampires and mummies and librarians.
Writing the Idiots’Book that comes out after the cat book, which will be called This is Not a Book, and which is, incidentally, not a book.
That’s what we’ve been up to. But we know you. You want to see pictures.
The other night, it was beautiful out as we drove to Centreville for dinner with friends.
The next day it was horrible again. I think our children have spent more time not at school than in school since the new year. Their tiny brains are turning to mush as Robbi and I lose our minds one snow day at a time.
What better way to beat the wintertime blues than to attend a princess party. Where one can be utterly transformed. From this…
…into this…
…and with a little bit of this…
Finally, into this.
Let’s have a closer look. I hardly recognize her.
But the transformation was not complete. There was the matter of hair.
There. A very worthy princess, if you ask me. Which you did not. But can you argue?
I submit as further evidence the glitter in her hair.
Last night Kato suggested a themed dinner. “Things that are long and straight,” he demanded.
Fortunately, we had two complementary items that fit the bill.
I did not let on that we also had popsicles.
