For anyone who lives in or near Washington, D.C., Robbi and I will be giving a talk at Politics and Prose, one of the nation’s finest independent bookstores, at 3:00pm on Saturday, April 20, 2013.
This will be our second appearance at P&P. A couple of summers ago, we stood at the back of the store and rambled for a while to the amusement of the 50 or so people there gathered. This time around, we’ll be giving our talk ‘The Virtues of Creative Impatience,” in addition to answering questions and signing books.
According to the press release:
This rambling, slide-laden manifesto by writer Matthew Swanson and illustrator Robbi Behr (of the small press Idiots’Books) explores the definition of art, the benefits of risk, the power of self-promotion, the advantages of collaboration, the pleasures of artistic freedom, the realities of the commercial publishing world, the value of experience, the importance of saying yes, and the unquestionable merits of doggedness.
If this sounds like the sort of thing you might be interested in, perhaps you will join us.
We realize that April is pretty far away, but we know what organized, busy people you are, so we thought we’d try to squeeze ourselves onto your calendars now.
