If you drive out of Chestertown on Quaker Neck Road…
And if, when you get to the fork in the road, you turn left…
You’ll come to Cliff’s City, one of the many terminal destinations you will find if you follow Eastern Shore roads to their logical conclusions.
At the end of the road, there is a parking area, and there is a pier.
It is a great place to run.
But not, apparently, a good place to swim and/or dive.
It is an excellent place to drink juice as the sun sets.
It’s a good place to watch the sun set, period, even if you have no juice because there was only one juice left and you, being 37, are deemed ineligible.
The thing I like best about Cliff’s City is that it’s not a city at all. There are a few houses, here and there, but mostly it’s just about the water.

That looks beautiful. I wish I were there!
Can Iggy go there for a swim?
It is indeed a beautiful place.
Smiling! Thanks for the peek at a corner of the world I haven’t seen in a while :)
Hey, that’s my neck of the woods! I love telling people how beautiful that area is, but I also like that not many people go there. ah, Quaker Neck.
I know I’m supposed to appreciate the landscape (which I do), but all I can think of is:
ALDEN AND THE BEANSTALK. Her Tallness Herself. Wow!
Beautiful photos.
NO JUICE FOR YOU!
Also, what have I told you guys about making me homesick? Sheesh.
