People have been asking me how the fishing was this summer. The truth is that it was not good. The salmon simply didn’t show up in the expected numbers. It was a problem in all districts throughout the bay. While bleak in economic terms, the summer did afford certain opportunities we would not have in a busier season. Such as posing in one’s fishing gear, for example.

It is a little-known fact that there may be no sexier thing than a man who is clad from head to toe in a rubber suit.

As evidence:

But what few people know is that the sheer animal magnetism of the Alaskan sockeye fisherman is significantly enhanced when he shows off his moves. And friends, I have a few.

I give you “The Mad Egyptian.”

“The Aspiring Swan.”

“The Invisible Mallet.”

“The Nylon Slide.”

“The Summoning of the Sun.”

“The Sudden Takeoff.”

“The Big Swim.”

“The Double Eureka.”

“The Canny Conquistador.”

“The Mr. Miyagi.”

And the true trump card, to be used only as a last resort due to its tendency to reduce the ladies to helpless puddles of molten desire:

“The Hot Jimminy.”

It’s a wonder that Robbi was able to retain her composure while taking this photo. But she’s a professional.

Apparently, art trumps desire.
