Holy Crapoli – I was vaguely considering doing a post about our trip to NYC to the MoCCA Fest, so did a google search for MoCCA 2010, and it looks like I’m so totally late to that bandwagon, even though the doors just closed a mere seven hours ago. If I were more on the ball, I suppose I would have been tweeting every seven seconds during the whole event. But I’m not that on the ball. I just rolled back in to Chestertown after dropping Matthew off in Philly where he has to do some work for UPenn tomorrow. He also took the camera with him, so I don’t have any photos to share. The upshot of all this is, there’s no news like no news. But you’ll get some soon.
You’ll be glad to know that Kato behaved himself for the entire show. Being his first book show, he wasn’t all jaded and “this is SO ho-hum” like Alden was the last time she was invited (she wasn’t invited this time – we left her home with a big bowl of water and some bagels we hid around the house for when she got hungry. It looks like she made it, though she didn’t find the bagel we hid in between the couch cushions). The pleasure of being a three-month-old is how the simple things are just full of surprises.
Rest assured, we did give him some clothes to wear at the show.
More later. Thanks to all who came out to see us.

HI robbi and matthew, and alden and kato, and iggy and cats.
Great for you guys going to massMoca. I’ve only heard dream-like accounts of it from proffessors who have been there. It sounds like some sort of art mecca.
My brother michael sent me a video to watch, and I like it, and thought you guys would enjoy it too.
that’s the site for the video >

I will have “The valley of vegetables stuck in my head all day”.
peace- Tilly
Aha! I’m busting you. I know for certain that your child was in the arms of others while you were away. She didn’t have to forage for bagels.
I actually saw said child with the noble Uncle Donald and Aunt Ann on Saturday. They looked as though they were having a fine time …. unless, do you think she might have a body double?
I’ll bet Alden held up a “HELP! I’m being kept here against my will!” sign in that big window on Queen street so that Ann would go rescue her. She’d probably eaten all of the bagels in the first 10 minutes and feared starvation.
That photo just makes me giggle.
It was a pleasure to meet you and Matthew and Kato. Thanks for all the books!
Tilly – different MoCCA. This one was sans Mass – it was in NYC and full of comics instead of full of wacky installation art. We used to lived right next door to MassMoCCA though, and I can tell you it is awesome. I also once won a halloween costume contest there dressed as super pumpkin girl. I have made my mark.
I couldn’t decide whether to laugh or cry over that video. I kept waiting for a big twist or something, like in Scooby Doo, where he rips his face off and it turns out he’s head of the Klan or something.
Jenifer – Uncle D and Aunt Ann must have heard her desperate screams from across the street. Maybe that’s why she never got to that last bagel. They have much better food over there.
Rebecca – good theory. She might have also made a phone call. She’s been doing a lot of that lately, and the response is often, “Are you okay?” So maybe someone sent in the troops.
Clare – we have one of Alden like that except she’s crosseyed.

I look at it often when I need a good laugh.
Ronit – Likewise (except for the part about the books). Also glad to know how to properly pronounce your name.
