I took Kato to the doctor this morning and am pleased to report that he is following in his sister’s footsteps. That is, at the nine-month marker, he has stepped off the growth chart entirely. Medically speaking, at 15 lbs, he’s not even there. See how he is suffering.
Having seen Alden follow this course and survive infancy as a fierce, hearty, thriving child, Dr. Ramirez has decided not to worry. “It’s all genetics,” he told me reassuringly, before adding that it was, “probably Robbi’s fault.”
I love my very small children and am happy knowing that they will always be more comfortable than the average person when riding in airplanes or hiding under low beds.

you can always encourage them to be jockeys. or road bike riders … minus the whole blood doping part.
He looks mighty fine to me, and cuter by the day.
BTW, there was in interesting article in today’s NY Timesabout babies and language. It said that when they furrow their brow, it means they’re interested in something. I thought of you guys because of a couple of photos you have posted, and because I remember that same expression on my son’s baby face. Course, there is nothing better than when they are laughing and gurgling, like Kato is here.

Of course, they are also following in Matthew’s early footsteps. He was ON the chart at this stage, but he was a three percenter. Road bike riding sounds perfect!
Height is overrated.
I think it’s very economical. They can wear their clothes until they wear them out rather than until the outgrow them!
