Hello, folks. We’re still gone. Sorry about that. But we’re wondering if you can help us out today by letting us know what you’ve always wanted Robbi to draw.
The possibilities are many:
- A woodchuck named Vern who has recently taken up skydiving
- A trio of tired gymnasts who are trying, unsuccessfully, to finish a Vermonster
- A guy on a bike being chased by a cougar who is being chased by an enormous mechanical otter
- A deranged lady with terrifying boobs, horrible teeth, and shockingly horrible teeth.
Oh, I forgot, Robbi draws that last one almost any day. And yet, if you’d like Robbi to draw that lady in a particular setting (perched at the bar at Outback Steakhouse, perhaps), then let her know.
Robbi will do her best to draw each and every one of your suggestions (eventually) when she gets back. Though she reserves the right to interpret your scenario however she likes. If you ask her to draw the wedding of My Little Pony to Strawberry Shortcake, for example, the final product might more closely resemble a scene from Les Miserables than you would probably suspect. The girl tends to put her spin on things.
Which is half the fun of working with her. Give her your best shot. Leave your idea in the comments below.

Chest hair. Lots and lots of chest hair. On a man named Sue.
Hi! I stumbled across your blog a year ago and absolutely love reading about the adventures of your family and your books.
I’d love to see any kind of picture related to someone feverishly baking or cooking (I’ve been on a Masterchef binge recently). Thanks!
So far, I’ve got nothin. Robbi’s imagination knows no bounds.
Just want to comment on Don’s comment…I believe Matthew Draws has taken care of that at some point.
I tease because I love!
I have several suggestions, along with helpful hints that Robbi may find relevant or irrelevant, as the muse strikes….
– my paternal grandmother. Helpful hints: she’s got a bird’s skeleton; she wears more gold jewelry than Slick Rick in the 80’s; and, she uses a carpet sweeper.
– the most excellent station wagon I drove in grad school. Helpful hints: it was sparkly gold; it rivaled a refrigerator box in aerodynamic-ism, if fridge boxes were made of steel; and, it didn’t go above 50 mph, but all my dogs loved it anyway.
– my neighbor doing the “clean and jerk” with her free weights in her garage. Helpful hints: my neighbor is an old lady with a spiky silver hairdo; her tattoos include (but are not limited to) portraits of her deceased cats and an “angel wing” on only one shoulder blade; and, her garage is a dilapidated white barn that is home to the village population of red squirrels.
– what it looks like in heaven. Helpful hints: I have it on good authority that fluffy clouds do not make for comfortable seating; also, I’m told that it’s a myth that the bad and the good are separated in the afterlife; and, maybe this is just a rumor, but I hear everyone wears pink & purple jumpsuits?
– what the offspring of an armadillo (9-banded) and a tapir would look like. Helpful hints: I mean biological children because obviously the happy couple could adopt any species they desire; the tragedy of the adult tapir lies in the loss of the attractive stripes of youth; and, it remains to be seen which would be more uncomfortable to gestate – armor or hooves.
I reserve the right to make another comment with suggestions in the near future, or at least as long as you leave comments open on this post. I have a frightful number of ideas.
An smiling, dancing donut. Of course.
