Today, Alden was sick. She stayed in bed all day. My bed. Resting with her monkey and Robbi’s iPad.

Other than the fever and sniffles, it’s not such a bad recipe for an ok day. What else? Our shipment of Idiots’Books Volume 36 arrived.

More on that to come.

This evening, Robbi and the kids drove me to a hotel near the Baltimore airport. I have a 4:30 wakeup call and an early flight to Mississippi.

We had a little picnic before the family headed back home again.

August was in rare form. He ate the hot dog we bought for him and the hot dog we bought for Kato. Kato was too busy bouncing on my bed.

Robbi behaved herself for the most part, but only because she was too hungry to cause trouble, I think.

I must applaud the kids for an orderly arrangement of their shoes. I wonder how we can convince them to do this at home.

When we were done eating (I stalled as long as I could), I walked them down to the car.

It’s hard to watch one’s family drive away, but Mississippi calls.

I’ll be back home again tomorrow night, and none too soon.
