This pregnancy has been a little rougher on me than the last. And that one was worse than the first. I attribute this to either my aging bones or the sex of the baby (I’m guessing this one’s a boy, since it’s being so troublesome) (though Kato was only slightly troublesome, he’s also only slightly a boy. He’s a boy in the same way that Matthew’s a man. Kinda girly.).
Finding something to eat that will stay down has been my main issue. Even plain old pasta and the smell of tomato sauce can set me off. Or the smell of cilantro. I love cilantro. It’s so fresh and delicious. And yet…
So – how did I eat this for dinner the other night?
And this is just the aftermath. Just looking at the photo makes me want to hurl.
Well, at least I didn’t eat them ALL. Just 8 out of 12. I had to save some for lunch. But honestly, I really could have kept on going.
Everyone says I should be out of the woods starting next week and feeling that second trimester shabaaz. Just in time for me to dress up in a rubber suit and slaughter thousands of fish. I say bring ’em on!
But please God, don’t make those fish smell like cilantro.

Oh Robbi, two “girly” boys?!
Will they forgive you for this, or can you blame the merciless lack of restraint on the new baby as well? I say go for it if need be. Or else attribute the crabbiness to the crabby mess. ;-)
Mmmm…reminds me of dinners at “The Maryland Crab House”, which I miss.
Clare – their girlyness is what makes them so damn appealing. They’re sensitive types. Luckily, Matthew fully acknowledges his general girlyness, and Kato isn’t bothered one bit because he still manages to make the ladies swoon.
Crabs are pretty much the only real reason to live in Maryland. These were my first crabs of the season. I’ve had a late start. I needed to catch up. And seriously, I could eat them ALL DAY LONG. And so I did.
Robbi,
By that definition, then I guess I have two girly boys as well. And grateful for it, too.
Have a great trip, all of you!
