To close out 2011, we took a trip across the Bay to worship at the shrine of IKEA. The kids came, of course. Which made IKEA even more exciting that in would otherwise have been.
As we strolled through the couch section Kato began his gymnastics career.
When he was chided for his overenthusiastic perusal of this particular bunk bed…
…he pretended to be asleep.
Alden took it upon herself to wake him up. When she was chided for her overenthusiastic perusal of the bunk bed…
…she pretended to be asleep.
But it’s difficult to blame the kids for their antics when their father can’t resist the temptation to think of IKEA as a giant playground. I’m pretty sure that I was not supposed to throw Kato into this huge pile of balls, for example.
But if that were really the case, why, then, did they put them there?
One thing is for certain: all’s well that ends in Swedish meatballs.
Three children, two shopping carts.
Life is getting more interesting by the day. 2011 was a remarkable year for us barn dwellers.
I just can’t wait to see what this new one has in store.

I recently took an Ikea trip with the boys. It was fun but too 3 times as long as it should have because of all the playing! That whole store is a playground!! Thank goodness they serve food or I would have had two REALLY cranky boys (and I’d have been a cranky Mama!)
I was in Ikea day before yesterday with my boy! He is moving into his first apartment this week. I had forgotten how it is. We were there two hours. Amazing that you can get a nice cotton duvet cover for about 30 bucks. I think it cost me more to make the one that is on my own bed. Not to mention the time and effort.
mmm…ligonberries…
