With a title like the one above, this post could be about so many things. Those of you who know Robbi know that she has many winning features, and I admire many of them. But today I have a chance to show you the essence of why I so enjoy collaborating with her on books. Although Robbi is perfectly capable of rendering painfully appealing woodland animals, she is also prone to spontaneously drawing bizarre oversized tractors with jacked-up front tires, savage teeth, and a house (or is it a factory?) on its back.
Behold this week’s auction, Inorganic.
I loved this image the moment I saw it and begged Robbi not to list it as an auction item. But in spite of her many winning features, Robbi is a willful, spiteful thing, and she refused to be persuaded by my pleas.
I am undeterred. I want it for my own, and I’m warning you now, I am tempted to bid against any of you who tries to take it from me.
This illustration is the very essence of Robbi. This is what it looks like in the recesses of her mind. I love it so much, I may have to write a book for it to live in.

I love this piece. Mad Max meets Nebraska farmer.
You’ve got it, Clare. Robbi is Mad Max. I am the Nebraska farmer.
